I need to learn a little more about the company/product before talking to anyone. Since my g/f is helping me, she's signed up 2 people at her job who have experience with MLM. This is her dad's second line; he didn't like the guy above him 10 years ago, so he pretty much dropped that line, although he's still getting residual checks for about $2500 monthly, which isn't bad at all. His active line is raking in tons, though, and it's been his only "job" for 10 years. He was a poor field worker picking strawberries and lettuce, so it's definitely a motivating success story.I've heard some good things about Noni. I don't know much about their compensation plan but it must be quite lucrative according to your story. What have you done so far to market the product/opportunity? I'm with Eniva, also a health related company.
He's given me a few dvd's to watch, but I've been so dang busy lately (no excuse). I just got my starter kit yesterday, so I'll take some time over the weekend to review. And yes, the compensation plan is good. He warned me not to expect to get rich quick, but to expect slow, but consistent gains at first.
This is my second opportunity at MLM, as I was approached about 6 years ago by a Quixtar IBO, but he turned me off to the whole thing because he looked so sinister, like a scheister. And he totally came up to me cold at a Barnes and Noble about what I thought about e-Commerce.
bump is like ttt, you know, reviving an old post
Noni is an ugly, nasty tasting fruit highly touted for its health benefits. They have to make it palatable by adding grape juice and berry juice
Cool. Thanks for the info. I have to commend you for your desire to hold back and not talk about the business until you have some education under your belt. Lots of people just run out and throw themselves in the mix. The end result is usually that they turn alot of people off before they even really get started. Mostly becuase they make the business they are in sound cheap and when you ask questions they have no answers.
You stated that you were approached by a Quixtar IBO at one point at Barnes and Nobel. That is the typical cold contact approach. Just be advised that at some point in your Noni business you will have to build your network outside of your friends and family. This will more than likely require you to talk to people that you do not know. (aka cold contact) . don't let it scare you. Its just part of MLM. If you believe in your business and product line than you will have no problem sharing it with others.
My only suggestion is that you just do not walk up to someone and ask them if they are looking or if they know anything about ecommerce. You have to gain their trust and build a relationship first. But above all else be honest about what it takes to make money and exactly how much they could make. Just like your friend did with you.
I definitely wouldn't have the confidence to walk up to someone cold, yet, but I find it really easy to build a relationship with someone first, where it's through quick small talk on the bus/crosswalk/market, but as far as walking up to someone and saying "hello, my name is ...and I was wondering..." I probably wouldn't present it unless they asked me what I do for a living, etc., then there's my chance. The way I'm thinking is that not to offer the opportunity, instead to just let them become intrigued with what I do, so I don't come across as desperate. I'm trying to read as many articles as I can, along with the training my mentor provides me.
Just remember if you don't give them an opportunity to get to know you then they will never ask what you do.. Which means you have to put yourself in the position to meet new people. You mentor will give you ideas and let you know when he or she thinks you are ready..
Hi, I'm also doing MLM, but not with Quixtar. I'm working with Tahitian Noni International (Tni.com). I have posted a couple times about it in the thread entitled "Please read this message before deciding on the opportunity."
While Quixtar may be popular as an MLM, it has not grossed nearly as much money as TNI in terms of retail. As a matter of fact, if you do the research (and I could show you what I've done if you dropped me an e-mail), TNI is the FASTEST GROWING Network Marketing company in history. It's recieved many business awards, appeared in Fortune magazine, Forbes.com, and has recieved an award from the UN for environmentalism.
My point is that this fast growth reflects not only the typical growth associated with MLM's, but that it's products have BEEN SELLING RETAIL. This is a HUGE DEAL because when a product is selling retail, then you can legitimately make money off of both recruiting AND retail selling.
Unlike Quixtar that doesn't have nearly the financial or brand name credibility to stand up to TNI (no network marketing company does) or a comparably successful product behind it (Tahitian Noni Juice), you may want to have a look at TNI.com. After doing that, simply read the thread I mentioned earlier in this post and I hope you'll consider joining my team.

Notes on Quixtar "So how much does an average Quixtar distributor really make? Well, only about $1,400 per year. What's the source for that figure? It's Quixtar itself. You can find it in the fine print of the company's own registration materials."
"Some former high-level distributors have filed a lawsuit against Quixtar in federal court, accusing the company of antitrust violations and conspiracy."
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4375477/
"Out of ALL distributors, only 0.82% qualifies as a Direct-level distributor. This means that 99.18% of all distributors do not qualify as a Direct-level distributor.A company where 99.18% are unsuccessful.
If you are earning 70$ per month you are in the top 11% of earners at Amway & Quixtar."

^ Quixtar is BAD!
Garbage like that is why I picked TNI over Quixtar.

i feel like all the exotic fruit MLMs are only fads. maybe when they first came out they were the only people manufacturing that product but nowadays you can find all of the same products in grocery stores and nutrition stores for a mere fraction of the cost. unless you are really interested in joining an MLM, don't waste your time with these bogus exotic fruit-based ones
