Need help?

My wife is a homemaker, and she thinks that she needs a job, well, because we need some money to get a few news things, like a bedroom set and dining room set, and I posed a challenge for us to save $10K by November so we can invest. She wants to contribute, but the only time she could work away from the home is at nights and on the weekends. This is not desirable for me, my kids, nor her. Does anyone have anything they need help with, making cold calls, stuffing envelopes, answering customer questions, that my wife could do? Or, do you know of legitimate "Work from Home" places?

Thanks.

Hi there

It sounds like you are looking for something for her to do to work from someone else and get a paycheck.

There are some companies out there who hire people to do customer service from home. You'll need high-speed internet and a land line. One I recommend is http://www.workathomeagent.com/

I have never, ever found a legitimate envelope stuffing job - so steer clear of those.

There are a lot of ways to earn income from home. Direct sales, product and service sales, affiliate marketing, writing, etc. But all of those will take an investment of some cash and a lot of time before you see a profit.

If she's really interested, refer her to my show, she'll get a lot of ideas and encouragement there

Just offering some suggestions:

-What about working for some company at home for set salary, such as answering phone calls, etc? A lot of companies are offering home-based positions, minus the benefits

-Perhaps offer to pick up other kids from school for an extra cost? Many parents these days don't have time, your wife could do it for them.

-Or going further, what about turning part of your house into a child care centre, and offering not only to pick up those kids, but look after them until their parents get home? (although this might be messy)

-If your wife has a skill like web design, etc and is willing to learn a bit more, the occasional freelance work might do. I know many freelancers refuse to take low-pay jobs (ie. anything under $20 an hour), so theres an opening there.

Basically. She wants to contribute, and I do not want her to have to work at night. We can not afford to pay for a baby sitter for two of our children that are not in school yet. It is $400/week per child her for daycare. We would loose money. Besides, she does not do well working at night. She gets physically ill. And I am not willing to sacrifice my marriage because we do not spend enough time together, if she were to work on the weekends.

We are not really looking for a lot of money. We just have a few things we need to fill our new home. Right now we are sitting on the dining room floor for dinner Better than sitting on the street. We are actually fine, financially, but I wouldn't be a poster on here if I were content. The ultimate goal is for the investment money. I turn 25 in November, and I set a goal for myself to be financially independent by the time I am 35. I have to start by then, or I will miss the mark. Plus, I have three daughters to put through college, and the first one will start by the time I am 36. I am thinking of getting an investment property for each of them, and that will be their college money.

Anyhow, I think something like customer service would be fine. Heck, with that flexibility, I could even do it occasionally.

Sure, that is fine. I do not want to be rich overnight... my wife is just looking for something to do, and we could use some money to buy a few things and invest.

Need help?

My wife just started doing Mary Kay. Your not going to get rich with it, but there are some ladies that have made some large bills with it. It all depends on her personality and drive to make money.

Now don't get me wrong, there is a little cost up front. Start up is around $200.00 give or take, and the cost can be greater, that is if you want to keep some inventory on hand, but you don't have to.

PM me if you would like some additional info or just have her go to
http://www.marykay.com/heatherwiles and click on start a business.

My wife makes around $200.00 a week and this is just from friends, family and a few people she talks to on the street.
