I've noticed a number of posts about MLM and thought I might get some feedback.
Disclosure: I have no MLM affiliations or experience.
I have a medical company that specializes in non-surgical medical treatments. We have multiple physicians and locations. http://www.surface-med.com
We've been approached with a new product (I've always been highly resistant to products since our margins are much lower than services/treatments)
However, one of my physicians was involved with a number of clinical studies of this product and has been published in a prestegious medical journal.
We've been approached by a number of vendors (including the Proactive infomertial guys) and are looking at distribution networks.
After discussing MLM as a possibility with some people who are involved with MLM's on a corporate level (mainly Nu Skin and Agel) it actually looks like it might be a viable model. It seems that the main difference is that the startup costs are much lower since everyone is paid in a comission basis. (My question has always been: where does the rubber meet the road? How does the end consumer finally get the product?)
For proponants of MLM, I would like to hear how they feel the business works for them.
Thanks for the input.
Jeff
