Just a passing comment - if you actually want to sell something on eBay don't start the bidding at what you think it's worth. Man this is so idiotic... people on eBay get excited when they think they can get a new iPod for 99 cents, then they get hooked. Nobody wants to immediately bid 200 dollars... that's no fun. This is just something I noticed today because I am looking to sell my computer.
Yeah gotta start out small.

Hi, i agree with Charlietuna. This is the better way to go about on eBay. If you state the starting price at the price that you think the item is worth, you might end up having no bid at all.Originally Posted by charlietuna
Yeah,..gotta start out small but the starting amount can't be too small. Say for example, selling an Ipod at EBay.. If we start at 99cents, what will happen if the highest bid is $2. Then, we gotta bear a huge lost.Originally Posted by mebreezy

That will NEVER happen unless you forget to list you have an ipod for sale in the title. Even in this scenerio you can search listings by the key words in the text section so people will still find the auction.Originally Posted by New billionaire
If you know the item sells for a certain amount then you have NO risk of starting the price at $.99... and if your really worried just put a reserve on there.
And if you want proof that in demand auctions will never end for WAY below what their worth then log into ebay and search the completed auctions and you can see what the lowest auction went for for about the last month.
ooo and a final side note you'll even see some really really stupid ebayer's who will bid on those guides to get your cheap ipod and they'll win for $200 plus![]()
The parctice of selling "guides" is completely unethical. Usually, they describe the whole item as if it was in their warehouse, and then mention at the bottom in point 4 font that it's "just a guide". The bidders may be stupid, but at least their not assholes like the sellers.

Absolutely not...
When I run across them, I usually contact the highest bidder to let them know it's a scam. Most of the time, they were unaware of the small text at the bottom.
Sooo sick of hearing about eBay.
Aussie's - start saying Lot123!!.. hehe![]()
However... must agree with the starting small thing. I started small and that's how I got addicted to auctions! And I mean addicted
And not all sellers are assholes *tear in eye*
what a snitch.....hahahaOriginally Posted by CP Mr Ofevaw
