Thumbs up Looking for an investor for my e-commerce website

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in providing me with some funding for my latest project. I run the website www.preowned-games.co.uk and I'm looking some cash to get it up and going.. Thanks

How much are you looking for?

And probably should have been posted in the investment forums

    Re:

I would be looking between £1000-£2000 GBP just to get the website up and goin and also to buy stock to start up. This is only a small business yet as I'm still a student and I'm looking for the website to grow over the next years. Yea you are right about posting in the wrong forum! sorry my mistake

    Re : Spyro

Hi there, I have currently spent about 400-500 GBP on the website in investing on the first stock for the website and other things like hosting, domain ect... I need new stock and also I need cash for a proper marketing plan to be setup for the website (google adwords ect..) .

Any questions please send me a PM or email me @ gervisknox901@hotmail.com

    Thanks for your question

I don't mean to sound tetchy, but with free software around such as OSCommerce start-up costs don't need to be big:
    http://www.oscommerce.com

Also - sounds like you want to drop straight into wholesaling - but have you considered dropshipping?

Youare unlikely to find a dropshipper of used games, by their nature supply will be limited.

Monster Commerce is not free, but is still cheap ($99 per month) and has the advantage over OSCommerce of being hosted: you do not have to worry about the technical apsects of it.

Yahoo! stores are pretty good too, the only issue is that they tale a % of your sales instead of a flat fee.

    Re

thanks for all the helpful comments coming. I think the best way for me to go is to find a drop shipper and cut the costs of buying stock..

That is a nice domain you've go there gervboy.

As YPAL said before, you are unlikely to find a dropshipper who sells preowned games, your best way of getting stock is to put an ad in a local paper, or to look on ebay for bulk lots of games.

    Good Luck with this!

Edit: I see the site is up and running, where in fact did you get your stock from?

Why don't you go to your local game store i.e. Game/Game Station etc and buy some you'll still be making a profit too!

    Or

You could offer game/game station etc a joint venture, im not going to state all of the details about this but if you could do it you could get a big business quickly and make a nice profit.

    Thumbs up Re:

Thanks for all the help and useful advice that is coming my way...

At the moment I have got stock through many socources like, ebay, amazon, game, xtravision, friends used games ect... It is working ok for me atm.. but if i expand then I can maybe setup a joint venture with stores like game, xtravision who could supply me with their used games..

    Keep your suggestions coming ....

On the GAME website there is a section called bargain bucket - or someting like that.

All the games are under £10 I believe, some as low as a £1, try checking that out.
