    Is Yuwie the next MySpace?

Has anyone tried Yuwie? Do you think it could overtake MySpace someday?

at this stage..I'm not seeing any signals that it would

    1. the venture community is not talking about it

    2. to overtake myspace, ventures have had to employ significant innovation - like identity verification, or open APIs

yuwie isn't showing any innovation, hence there is no signal that it would overtake myspace

    It's

I've noticed the paid referral model they're using so a few
people are promoting it. I don't think they're taking out
    myspace though...

To overtake mySpace? But I've heard they have other features that isn't in mySpace.

i never try it, but to be honest my space is at the top now compare to his rival such as friendster..so if they try to overcome myspace they need to overcome others social network site like Hi5 and friendster..wake up from day dream..

I am a member of Yuwie and it appears to not be working tonight. Anyone have the same issue?

Myspace offers more what teens are looking for and they understand the market and have grown around it. This Yuwie site looks nothing more than a big MFA site to me.

This is a joke right? Yuwie has an uglier design than myspace, and the personal pages look like crap. Myspace will always be at the top of it's game.

    Myspace/Facebook/Bebo

Nothing will ever beat those 3.

If your interested in having your own social network site, focus on a niche.

Like a social network dedicated to your favorite football team, or singer, or person.

Those will work better than having a large social network dedicated to everyone. You'll get more targeted traffic too.

    Totally agree.

And it would be very difficult to catch-up with the top 3 SN (myspace/Facebook/Bebo) for a new comer.

No social networking site can take on myspace. They have 500mil page views a day, or some crazy ass number like that. The closest in 2nd place is facebook with like 250mil views. third place drops all the way down to about 20.

And the experts come out of the woodwork!

The way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time and MySpace is already deleting Yuwie links because they realize the threat.

Go to sleep and wake up next year, then make that statement again.
