Im relativley new to this world but am interested in purchaseing internet domains to develop. Im wondering if any one could help me with a fiew areas i am unclear on. How do web pages actualy make money? How can i purchase domains? Any one got any good business ventures which require moderate investment, under the correct circumstances i would consider.

considering business.com sold for 12mil back in 1999

and such a poor domain like flowers.mobi sold for 200K

If theres a new up and comming product, you have seen and not many people know about it,
buy the Domain! imagin ifd that product goes global.......

or wait until the next extention like .asia i think is comming out next... i mite buy 1 or 2 and sell on...

flowers.mobi was a speculative buy in a non proven extension all that sale really did was make peopel go and jump on the .mobi bandwagon. lol rick ahs the money to make those type speculations

lol at least soone sees my point the time of regging a great domain like business.com or sex.com is long gone not to say that there are not good domains to be had for reg fee but if i were really trying to get in now id invest i the after market or start developing a excellent sites (not mediocre)

to me the bubble has burst, you can get reg fees and possible double your money if you find end buyer, but to me thats not worth my time. There is still alot of money to be made in a semi good domain but developed site.

I sold WalesRealEstate.co.uk Yesterday for &#163;70.00 which isn't bad considering i spent 4.99 for 2 years. Had it about 1 month, maybe less.

Total time spent with the domain, probs 30mins, &#163;70.00 in 30mins not bad. now i have that money to develop my other sites with.

i think the market is doing well just not a lot of great names out there to register but if someone wants to develop a site there are tons of names out there to register. because the quality of the name is not so important imean themilliondollarhomepage.com or whatever it was ,was a crappy name right along with youtube being a crappy name but they developed them and made them work.

Considering WalesRealEstate i bought for reg fee, &#163;70 isn't bad, maybe i could of got more for it, with the right buyer, but i wasn't going to wait until 6months down the line.

flower.mobi is a good name and business.com was 7.5million - sex.com was 12million
