If you're granted 1 wish to start a business by an angel, what business will you do?

For me, I would like to have an information business whose clients are spread on all countries. I'm choosing this type of business because I want 100% gross profit margin and, in my opinion, information industries are easier to manage than goods industries. (as goods industries involves a lot of planning, operation research, etc)

Move my business from dropship to actually stocking everything, operate as a disrtibutor so i can lower prices and have a wholesale line of businesss and Manufactuer my own line of pet supplies.... Oh wait... im allready working on the business plan for the angels for this

But yes, it would be nice to just be granted this with no work involved....

I guess I'd choose a large PR agency with branches spread worldwide and a huge celebrity clientele list

I like connections and PR work is easy (for me at least) and generates a very respectful income

Hopefully in the near future I won't need an angel or Aladin's lamp to make this business...

I would start a power company. Right now am currently planning my energy company for angel investors and/or venture capitalists, and some have shown interest.

there's no such thing as a 100% profit margin in business. You always have to spend something, and information is never free. Why would someone pay you for something that would be free somewhere else?

My friend used to work for a manhattan based company - Find SVP - and they could find anything... how many threads were in a pair of underwear, how many fries mcd's sold, etc. It cost them a lot to find out this and they charged a whole lot for it, but in the end, their net was something like 18% which is about 2x better than retail. Google, btw, spends hundreds of millions of dollars per QUARTER on keeping up, development, etc.

Half of 18% is the average profit margin for retail? Gross or net?
Possibly net, but i would still like to see some proof, as i think it would be a bit higher.

i apologize... retail NET is something like 10% on average, gross margins range greatly depending on the product. I should have clarified. In any case, it seemed like swahyudi was trying to say that the information was all profit, whereas in reality, information is the most expensive thing known to man.

How much will the cost for curing cancer be? It seems an extreme example, but there are alot of people who sell informaiton, it's a tough racket, and it's definitely not free most times when it counts, otherwise it usually wouldn't count =)

I'll start a Fashion Bussines;
why?;
coz' Fashion will always change and it has short life time;
for example: if now you say that 'mini cloth' is trendy, its not anymore if you said that 3 years after;

second, you can sell 'high price' fashion with 'minimum production cost' and give you 'wide margin' and just great creativity and little imagination.
