I need some inspiration from you!

Just as the title says: I need some inspiration from you!

Im living in a small town in the middle of Sweden. Entrepreneurship in this country is not a good thing, and the taxes for small business is a living proof of that: If my profit is 100k, more than 67% of that money is going to taxes.

My enviroment at home isn't very inspiring either, my folks are just talking about selling hotdogs and throws shit at my ideas.
They dont think outside the box at all!

I need some inspiration. I live in Sweden, where do you live?
Have anyone in your town/neighbourhood/country a smart solution for an everyday problem? A smart idea that seems to work well? Please, share with me, either by forums or PM.

I can't offer you something else than some other ideas in return.

    PS.
Do u live in a town with 50.000 ppl in the U.S? I have a question about a business-opportunity for you!

Edit: I am not interested in any kind of e-business, so please dont send me PMs with suggestions of partnership or something like that.

    Well.
I've got a bachelor degree in entrepreneurship, I've read all the rich-dad books, and books by Bill Rancic, Carolyn Kepcher and so on.

And I am not lazy, I already have one company since 2005, but I want another idea to work with.

Banks/investments, Ok, but I can't do very much more than sit infront of my computer all days and analyze charts and financial information. How fun does that sounds on a scale?

I need something to work with every days, monday-sunday, from morning to evening, I want to be able to do some work at midnights, (the stockmarket doesnt allow me to do that)

Do you know a business with a smart idea at you local market that you think would be in interest for some other communities in the world, Sweden for example? Tell me what that business is doing. I want something to work with.

JBarista, it's almost hopeless asking others for their ideas. For a business to succeed, it's owner(s) most love that business. They must love the idea. The must love the reason for the idea.

Look around you right now. What problems do you see? What solutions can you bring to those problems? Look at your hobbies and see how those hobbies can be improved.

A business succeeds when a dedicated individual or team of individuals work 80 hours a week but feel like they worked no more than five hours. The only way you get that feeling is by working in a business that does something you are so passionate about, everything else becomes second in line.

I love designing Web sites, so five years ago I setup a Web development company. Web development lent itself to Web hosting, and I soon discovered I loved that, so I setup a Web hosting company. I love camping, so I'm in the process of setting up a camping related business. I love travel and realising my dreams, so maybe I'll setup a student travel service. I love Scouting, so maybe I'll setup a service specifically for Scouts.

Maybe you like to eat French fries, but you've become bored of the taste. Maybe you'll introduce a new flavour, or a selection of flavours. I'm sure you understand what I'm getting at.

Asking for ideas from other people is only going to produce ideas related to things they love. You need to look around yourself in your day to day activities. Maybe you get a bus to work each morning, and each morning there are people at the bus stop complaining that they have to wait so long for a bus because there are not that many buses along that particular route. Maybe you'll start a bus company which sends buses every 15 minutes along that route, rather than every 45 minutes like the other company does. Look around you, find problems, then find solutions.

Edit: Ok, here's an interesting one. You say your parents aren't very motivational or encouraging regarding your business ideas. If you are having that problem, so are other people. Maybe you could start a company specifically aimed at removing that lack of motivation, or replacing that lack of motivation with something else.

I'm not saying these are great ideas. I'm just trying to get you to understand the type of thinking and brain storming that you should be doing.

I am not asking for their ideas, I am asking them to inspirate me with their ideas.

The inspiration that I hope to get out from this thread is going to result in a basic idea that Im going to brainstorm about.

    Business inspiration for Swedish JBarista

    Hi there!
First of all leaving is perhaps a bit drastic, on the other hand other countries in the EU might be more entrepreneurial (thinking specifically of the UK here) and it is really simple to move across the borders should you wish to do so. However, Sweden is a country that has brought forward so many cracking business ideas and products (think Skype, Volvo, SKF, IKEA.....) and there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't succeed as well.
I am surprised at the tax levels that you suggest. I thought that Sweden had capped their tax on company profits lifted by directors at 30%?! Might have changed of course but that is the last I read. Is it a limited company that you have got? There is no way the level of tax you describe is the accurate one for the business world or nothing would get done. Are you thinking of the VAT of 25% and then income tax on top? Because you should be able to claim VAT back on business purchases and thus reduce this. And paying income tax is fair enough when you are making decent profits. But like I said look into lifting it as dividends instead.
And for inspiration have a listen to some podcasts & check out some business books as well. My favourite is the flyings startups podcast www.flyingstartups.com and I am a fan of the books by Steve Parks as well. Very inspirational and especially the Start Your Business Week by Week one is great for honing your business idea.
Have fun, & good luck Catherine

This is for ltd-companies (I think it's ltd, AB in swedish). They are paying 28% in tax on their total profits, and when the owner/s are taking their share of he profit, they are paying another 30% in taxes. VAT excluded.

My company (the smallest kind, not like Microsoft ;-) are first paying 33% of the total profit in taxes to the government, and after that another 34% in taxes to the county where I live. VAT excluded.

    No. The VAT is excluded.

    Read SpringWise.

One pretty cool idea I heard is to open up a store. The store is split into sections, and locals who make goods, such as clothes, pastries, etc. rent out different sections of the store.
