I need help ASAP.
Hello All,
I have started my own Mobile Entertainment company in Toronto, and my first project is a TXT2Win contest. I am doing it in the form of a Green Awareness Theme. The Grand Prize is a Toyota Hybrid Camry if you can guess how many balls it take to fill it up. And there are awesome weekly prizes. I have alot of money invested. I launched last Thursday downtown Toronto (which was awesome) but the after response is very slow. I am getting worried. If there is anyone in the same business, who can offer some advice or suggestions, please drop a line or 2 or 3. Check out the website : www.txtearth.com
Thank you
Steve

Your target market is retail, the solution to your issue is one word: Advertising.
Hire some people from the local colleges to pimp your company. Students work cheap. Make up some tshirts, get flyers posted, get emailing lists. Here's a great one: call up a local radio station that does top-40 and sponsors a local bar-night and run a promotion with them during their college night.
Best Regards,

Steve,
I think your response rate is slow because your deadline for this contest is almost 2 months when I had checked it. Remember that people are into instant gratification.
The "Action" for participation is clear, they need to text the number but who will remember that they entered the contest 2 months ago? Also even though your purpose is environmental support and awareness, there isn't anything on your website that clarifies that notion.
Basically, what I see is a gimmicky way of collecting people's email info and cellphone numbers so they can get spammed both ways. The campaign will fail because it serves only one interests-YOURS.
I hope you have a way of reversing it before its too late.
Just my 2 cents of course.

1. You can never fail at something unless you give up.
2. I guess getting a hybrid car isn't of the consumer's interests?

You know those hybrid cars and their batteries leave a bigger carbon foot print to make and drive than a hummer does.
But thats irrelevant. People think they are greenies when they have hybrids. People like that idea, because its cool to be a car greeny, not a tree hugger though. Its not what they know, its what they think.
I agree though, hire college kids and advertise your ass off.

Thank you for all your suggestions and advice.
I am restructuring my marketing plan. I am making it easier to enter online and I am going to focus more online marketing.
Does anyone can give advice on effective online marketing and advertising? I am also into crosspromotions. If you have a business to promote you can use my contest to attract people. Giving away a $40,000 car will attract attention. Depending on the type of partnership our companies can make, I might be able to include you in my advertising spots.
Thanks again everyone.
