Post I have a response from Coca-Cola what do you think?

    Good evening everyone,

I have been trying locally here in Pennsylvania to get some feedback on the following response that I received from the Coca-Cola Company. Unfortunately, people have not responded to my inquiries at local agencies here.

    Please review the response below.

    --------------------
    start message
    --------------------

Thank you for contacting The Coca-Cola Company, (Ubba ). We appreciate your interest in having our brands advertised with you.

We do not employ individuals for such services. We would entertain offers from agencies experienced with this type of advertising, but not offers from individuals. You would need to seek an agency to join their list of approved drivers. We do not presently employ such an agency, and therefore cannot offer the name of one for you to contact.

Please let us know if we can be of additional assistance.

    Industry and Consumer Affairs
    The Coca-Cola Company

    --------------------
    end message
    --------------------

Being that I am an individual, I can not take this idea of mine any further without the employment of an agency. They currently do NOT have any agency supporting the idea or even the genre of the idea that I presented to them. To me, they do seem interested.

Please review and let me know what it is that you think.

If anyone can point me to an advertising agency that is reputable please do so.

    Thank you,
    Ubba

I am not sharing the idea. It is my intellectual propery. I am looking for some feedback on the response that I got from the Coca-Cola Company, and some suggestions on how to proceed.

    Sorry

Your looking for a ad agency?
Serch your PHONEBOOK to find a advertising agency in your city.

    Said something about driving...

you need to share more than that to get a decent response.

"I am not sharing the idea. It is my intellectual propery."

Nobody is gonna run off with your idea! Its all going to be OK.

And exactly what part of the response was that?

The responce appears to be a very nice way of saying no. Coke has hired somebody to do this because they think it helps thier bottom line. Coca-Cola is the second most recognized word in the world, just below "ok". You don't get that by ignoring or being mean to people that write in.

I'm not sure but I think coke does thier own advertising. Which the responce says if you read between the lines, so to speak.

You should be flattered that a huge company spent several minutes on your letter. If you do get an agency to listen to you, think about a non-disclosure agreement before you tell them the secret. A search engine should prove helpful to you.

It pisses people off on here, if we dont know your idea we cant tell you how to proceed! But yes i think aiming for a company like coca-cola with whatever product you have is way over your head.

I disagree. However, it would be helpful to know if we're dealing with a commercial idea, graphic layout, new product idea, etc.

Never, ever say that to someone. Actually, you probably should say that so they are driven to show you differently

Never consider something "way over your head" when it comes to pitching ideas to people/companies. You never know who is going to listen and who will pick up on it. Remember, they are JUST people, too.

Sometimes it is about who you know. I used to know this guy whose daughter did graphics professionally for Pepsi. At anytime, I had an internal contact within Pepsi, the right person for my line of work.

Find a reputable agency who will work with you. Or, find out who they deal with and sign up with them.

You have possibilities. It's not an impossible task to get their attention. The question is NOT: Can I do it? Of course you can! The only question is: how will you do it? What are you going to do to get you there? Who are you willing to talk to in order to get the contacts you need?

Even if you get to know the janitor, he knows who is up the ladder and has trusting relationships with people inside the company.

    Good luck!

I absolutely agree. The people who do big things are the ones who get in way over their heads, make fools of themselves, cold-call big-wigs at major companies again and again and again, and get right back into the thick of it every time they're pushed down.

That's what the entrepreneurial spirit is all about.

Trying to drive around in a free car with Coca Cola plastered all over it are we? Can you imagine how many requests they get from people for stuff like that? Do what goodwood said - get in the phone book and try to align yourself with an ad agency. (Good luck)

Don't give up after a letter like that. You just have to look at your approach and take a different line. Personally i have recieved heaps of rejection letters or no letters back at all, trying to get my idea's of the ground, and 99% of those letters would be coming from a receptionist or likewise. You need to get in contact with the decision makers. A bit of research never hurt anybody. I dont know if this would be possible with a compnay as large as coke though. Find out who makes the decisions and personally contact them its worked wonders for me good luck.
