Why would anyone pay you $5000 to get trained when they can go work at Kinkos, get trained for free AND get paid, and learn these things? I'm not trying to bash your skills or experience or anything... I'm trying to understand what you offer that is superior to the example I just gave.

How is this a scam? The equipment used is very expensive, especially if you do hand paint art work as well.$5000 is about right, the computerized decal/paint systems are expensive.I know someone that does freelance decal and hand paint lettering for local body shops. Hes the best around and has made a good name for himself doing this. He also makes good money from it.If he is slow on work,he brings his portfolio of all the work hes done along with references to new body shops. Its usually "hook line and sinker" with body shops. He even does lettering and designs on race cars. I just dont see how this is a scam

And ah,you cant get professional decals or hand paint pinstripe jobs at kinkos...Do you really think body shops use kinkos decals?? No, they have professionals do the work.

Sounds like you are the one that knows nothing and are just here to bash the guy.

dfveteran: How did you figure out that SellinMyBiz was talking about automotive lettering/signs, etc? I've read his post again and I don't see any implication as to what industry he was referring to...

I thought he was talking about banners, pole signs, vinyl lettering and window decals for retail shops. All of which are generic printing functions of almost any print shop.

If he is offering training on a niche that requires highly specialized skills then I can understand the costs associated with it. Hopefully he can log back in and clarify.

I owned a sign shop for over 10 years. I've done all kinds of nice signs. I can pass all the knowledge along. All the equipment/software needed for vinyl graphics is there. Not bad for the right person.

You don't acquire this knowledge at Kinkos.

    truck lettering
    gold leaf
    store front signs
    magnetic signs
    banners
    wood signs
    3d letters
    window lettering
    etc...

I dont know. I have been around and seen a lot. Maybe I have experience to read between the lines, I guess. Maybe because I dont look at everything with a negative attitude.

Usually when someone says they do lettering or decals, they mean in the automotive industry. He also says he does signs, so that would mean to me, that he probably does business advertisement signs as well.

He also tells you the computerized equipment comes with the business. That would tell me that he is a professional and not a kinkos employee.

Hope that answers your question, take care
