Hit or miss? Auction website - but wait, read more!

Ok, here's the idea:

An auction website (built on one of those typical PHP auction scripts) where you can auction off web templates/forum skins/graphics etc?

It's not my idea but a few friends and I were talking about it. I don't see how it hasn't been done before because it's so...obvious, yet I can't think of any websites which offer this service. There's also legality issues when dealing with money...

So, what do you guys think?

The last site that did this was www.myfreelanceauction.com - now bought out by Sitepoint and merged with their Marketplace. It's a nice idea but forums like Sitepoint seem to keep most template buyers and sellers happy.

great idea but for a short term plan maybe this is ok.. if you are thinking of making this a long term business.. should think of a better strategy
