great idea, but scared someone would take it

Is it possible for someone to steal an idea if posted in a forum? Wouldnt you have proof of the idea if posted on a web site? I see alot of ideas floating around, wouldnt you be scared for it to be taken? If an idea can not be stolen, then I will post my idea later on tonight.

All ideas can be stolen off forums it doesnt matter what proof you have they will just say you said it i implemented it and made it into something.

so whats the use of people commenting on your idea? What if someone tells you thats a bad idea, has the capital to begin the idea, and runs with it? Do we have any defense against this happening?

Don't post your idea. I think the idea is almost useless, it is the execution that counts. There are some ideas out there that should be kept secret though.

well then they are a liar. The only real person you can trust is yourself.
As far as i am aware there is no defence unless it is a patentable product then you should get it pantented immediatley so if someone does copy you can charge high royality fees.

If someone isn't already doing your idea, then more then likely they are building your idea, and if they aren't building your idea, then I can almost guarentee you that others are thinking of it.

Post the idea, just not the blue prints. UNLESS it involves something that someone could copy in a very short period of time with almost no investment.

you are being paranoid over something completely irrelevant to business

a) ideas are worthless

b) if they do get executed and turned into businesses, it's actually good for everyone because it makes the market bigger
