Great Idea....but how?

I know that the majority of people living in the US today don't buy new computers because they are broken, but because they have viruses, spyware, adware etc and get so many ads their computer freezes up. So they go out and buy a new one! There is actually free software on the internet that can get rid of all the junk on your computer.

If you could teach every one of these people how to protect thier computer and charge a little for it you would be a billionaire. There are already people doing it www.nuker.com has over 6 million registered users each paying 29.95 at least per copy of this software. You can get software that does the same for free...but people don't know that. 6 million is a lot of people but there is a much higher potential, with how many hundreds of millions of people needing it! Infact I just fixed my neighbors computer with the free sofware. So the big question...how do you reach the MASSES

you should check my idea on using CD's to give away software. You should also follow the basic principle of residual returns.... it's easier to get 100,000 people to give you say.. $20/yr than to try and get 6 million to pay you $30 once.

The basic principle is to partner up with someone for distribution unless you can lay out a few thousand of your own and then just give away the CD's and at $10K you could get about 40,000 CD's ... burn your prog to the disk and people who want it will pay $20/yr to keep updates and whatnot. it's best to start with people you know and whatnot... but rather than explain it here.. .just go read the marketing and sales forums...

Target places that people go when they are new on the computer.

Advertise on sites that the new user would use. AOL search would be good, the same as google and yahoo. It is incredible how many people search for www.google.com (that is the actual search string) and they are using google to search for it.

You could also target the young adult, the ones who use MSN etc that don't really have any idea how computers work.

Perfect example: one of my tenants fridge decided to catch fire... this caused a breaker to blow. This also caused her computer to shut off because it was on the same breaker. When she turned the computer back on, there were popups on her computer. She now believes that the fridge catching fire was the cause of viruses on her computer.

Find those people and market to them.

another good idea .. depending on your level of greed.. is to team up with manufacturers. Get some affiliate software to run the program and when they sell their new computers to people.. your trial software is already on it. They use it for a month and if they like it they keep it and pay. Many people may not want to use it until they decide to cancel and start getting lots of adware and malicious garbage on their PC. let the people who push the PC's keep a residual income from people who pay on an ongoing basis and you're already offering more than your competition
