You mean to purchase a franchise? If so, you have to take into consideration how much money you have to spend on one and what type of business you'd like to be in.... I preffer the restaurant business, but many dont... So go from there with it.... Are you planning on buying a franchise?

you need a lot of investment to put into franchising. it's probably stable and proven to work. my impression is it can probably support your living, but will not be too profitable unless you have several franchises. just my opinion

franchising is a good approach for business the benefits are greater than a completely new start up. i would do it but im not sure what kind of profits the mother companies are expecting back. personally i would go for a take-over. it would cost more but i would be my own boss and do things my way.
