    Don Lapre (the infomercial guy)

Everyone knows who I'm talking about don't they? The young guy that says he's a self made millionaire....

I read something about him today - he's bankrupt - I found it funny and had to share.

Hehe that's odd. I don't like Infomericals and I don't know who he is, but I see a lot of infomericals Like that though. If they worked everyone would have a million bucks.

    Cya Don!

Don Lapre, Mr. “tiny little ads” himself. Don Lapre was king of the late night infomercial circuit. I say was, because Don Lapre has run into a little bankruptcy trouble as of late. The don Lapre infomercial was very informative. With his boyish good looks, his camera-ready charm, and a made for the beach hairdo, it’s easy to see why he captured the imagination and pocketbooks of so many unsuspecting viewers. Don’s system, at $39.00 per package was inexpensive. He made his money on “backending” his customers with other, more expensive products and services supposedly designed to help you succeed. Lots of complaints against Don Lapre, his business practices, and his second (first one was in the mid-nineties) bankruptcy have caused newsgroups related to him to spring up everywhere. It would be nice to be able to call Don Lapre “Done Lapre”.

    “Done Lapre”.
    LOL!!!

Now it's Billy Mayes (Hayes?) cleaning and household products that we see frequently.

When I was younger (I'm 28 now) ...I'm talking 22, I saw the realestate infomercials about buying foreclosed properties and then selling for a huge profit and I thought..."cars". (i.e. police auctions).

Low and behold, recently, I saw a kid advertising some program that tells you where these police auctions are and how to buy and so forth.

Of coarse, that was when I was young(er) and did not act on my ideas as much as I do now. Alas.

    Kind Regards,
    -Darrell

The only thing that works is doing it yourself unforunately. Get rich quick schemes are the same as hot stock tips. I would rather be playing poker as a way to get rich then to take that kind of advice.

    Poker Anyone?

Yes, Guitarizt...you are quite correct. It seems as though the only individuals who actually make money on those hot stock tips and get rich quick schemes are the promoters.
At least with poker you are able to control your own cards and make a 'poker face' to try and gain control of the game.

    Good luck,

As much as I hate Don Lapre, I think you should give the snake a little credit. I mean, he is making those stupid commercials but as least he is trying......That is more than I am doing right now..........

Have you seen his new scam? It involves some pyramid vitamin scheme? I wonder how many he will sucker this time??

    haha

Oh yes! I ought to add that to my list of hobbies in my profile.

You know it's about the time that I started playing poker - about 6 months ago - that I changed how I looked at life. I've become a much more positive person with stacks of determination and drive. Coincidence? Perhaps not!
