In my opinion, there are no sure fire get rich opportunities. You have to start at the bottom (Unless you have Millions of $ to play with stocks.) and you have to work hard. I am new to this post and new to this forum. I happen to agree with several people in this post that the reason you posed it is to show how much you can offer people.

The WIIFM is very common and actually when you're speaking with a prospect, you should always take into consideration what their needs are and how your business can help them based on what their needs are so a general post really wouldn't help unless someone interviewed the person to see their needs and wants.

I agree that people need to examine their "why" and it might be freedom, retirement or whatever they are hoping to achieve, but that being said, in my opinion, they do need to have a passion about what they're doing.

I work in a nutritional company, TriVita, and I spoke with a prospect who told me he is 60 years old, doesn't believe in nutrition and is healthy as a horse. He was not interested in my company. I am not about to tell him, oh wait - look how much money you can make. The person has to believe in the products and believe in the company (of course, believing in themselves first) to be successful because that carries through in their voice and what they attract and I wouldn't want someone in my business unless they believed in it.

I think what anyone should do is examine what their USP (Unique selling point) is and that's where you start from. What makes your business so unique. For me, my company generates the customers for you so you don't have to and if you don't like to sell, this is a great benefit. The company also handles all the follow up from sending out brochures and catalogs to emails, etc. I have spent many times in prior businesses having to spend time and money and resources in followup and everyone knows that follow up is your key to your fortunes and here the company does it for you. Of course, we have a product launch that is expected to be the next billion dollar product, but that's just icing on the cake.

So anyone in a business really needs to understand what their USP is and in fact, when someone is considering many businesses, they can examine it from what their passion is to what one offers that the other one doesn't.

I have many sales tools and resources in place for my team and actually had someone on my team who thought that was a strong selling point.

And last I agree with the folks who said you need to establish trust. People buy you first before they will buy into your business. And the best way to do that is to listen. I love the quote, you have two ears and one mouth so you can listen twice as much as you talk.
