Boston Area YE's
Hi everyone,
Since joining a few weeks ago, I have found this site to be incredibly helpful and rewarding in many ways. I have been speaking with "GonnaBThere", who is also from Boston, regarding the possibility of starting a group meet-up of sorts. He and I are very enthusiastic to get something going...here is an excerpt of the PM I sent regarding my idea behind it...
"I am thinking maybe something monthly to start. It could be introductions, past experiences, and then could take a few different approaches. One, we could lend help to the group from our experiences...e.g. One guy is good with finance, the other with IT...the finance guy helps IT guy with his cash flow analysis while in return he gets a customized logo done for his site or something. Also, we could look around Boston, share leads or potential ventures we could see working in the city, and see if there is anything promising to pursue. Heck, those friggin rickshaws downtown that bike people around were founded by two or three college kids that didn't want to leave Boston after graduating!"
So, with that, anyone who would be interested in this please PM me, or GonnaBThere. We will try to gather info regarding people's schedules, convenient places to hold such a group discussion, etc and put together some final plans.
Thanks, and talk soon!
Guy

DF and Fan,
Great! Glad to meet you both!
I am in talks with 2gould and GonnaBthere, and we three are willing to meet in town wherever/whenever. Gould and I were discussing cigar masters, but it can be wherever.
PM me - I am putting an email together.
Enjoy the snow/sleet/crap that's out there now!

Hi guys,
As noted above, Brian, 2gould, GonnBThere (who's, well, gonna be there) and myself will be meeting on Thursday 3/6/08 at 5:50/6ish @ Cigarmasters : Boston : Providence : Cigar Lounge. PM me for more info.
Again, the purpose for this is to gather the YE's in the Boston area and
A. introduce ourselves, talk about what we have done as entrepreneurs, what we want to do, etc.
B. call on each other as resources to learn, get help or advice from, and
C. ultimately keep up with the Boston area to see what may potentially be out there we can tap into or form in the area
Just wanted to try something different here. Again, PM me if you are interested for Thursday or even if you can't make it but want to be on the emails for later meetings.
Best,
Guy

Also, Brian has emailed his fellow MS Tech Entrepreneurship classmates (roughly 20 people) regarding the group and hopefully that will gain some more involvement and bring more to the table.

It was great meeting you all last night! I had a great time discussing entrepreneurial things with you guys and slugging back a few cold ones.
I do have one gripe though... Cigar Masters isn't really the place for me. While I was in there I didn't mind the smoke/smell much, but as soon as I left, it was such a stark contrast to the lack of smoke! It definitely permeated everything I had on, even the leather belt/wallet. Now even my car seats smell.
I move to change venues for the next meet. No offense to you guys that enjoy the stogies, but I do remember now why I prefer the smoke free places. It's not really the place itself, but the lingering smells.

HAHA - yeah, I love cigars but it can get a little smoky. After our meeting I took a shower and put all the clothes I was wearing in a different room of the apt.
It was nice meeting you guys and hopefully we'll do it again soon.
