Well the question was; what is the best overall franchise, not the best with low down and little risk. Start another thread for that question

McDonalds, as someone already said is probably the best franchise overall. They guarantee over 1 million dollars profit in your first year and every year after as they pick the location and you have to follow their rules. McDonalds is the smartest way to go, even if you don't like them. It costs I believe a little over 250 thousand dollars for the license and they send you to school to learn how to run it properly. But it pays for itself. Over one million dollars each year is a huge profit!

Without taking ethics into consideration, having a "Halal" McDonald's in a Muslim populated area is surely going to be lucrative. There was a trial in London, and they found that sales were boosted by also offering a Halal menu.

Since McDonalds picks the area to put your McDonalds you won't fail. You have to follow each and every rule that McDonalds lays out for you, otherwise they wont let you purchase the franchise license.

Thats why they can guarantee you so much profit. You cant just do what you want with the franchise, unlike other franchises. McDonalds has very strict rules to follow, but it's well worth it for the profit you will be making.

We run a computer game centre franchise. The core of it is software we've developed over the last 3 years ... so we can support it anywhere in the world. Check out our web-site ... or email me if you want to know more.

As others have said, it's all about location. But if you secure a good one you can get your investment back in 12-18 months.

I operate my own business, essentially a franchise, based off a parent company in the states. It is essentially an online business, and each person is their own entity, but work together to make money for their company(s)

The business is basically in the greeting cards industry, but with a very interesting online twist which has made the US parent company very successful.

The service has just arrived in Australia, and I am looking to build on the success in the states, if anyone is interested, I am more than happy to take you on a guided tour of the service.

There is a one off start up cost to access the site.

I'd go with subway, they've got a huge presence all over. I think it's definitely one of the strongest franchises.

I don't think so. Being a franchisee means you need to have the time to run the business yourself. There are some franchise opportunities that you can do part-time though, but still, you need to be a hands-on business owner to make it successful.

Not too sure what the situation is in the States but in the UK there is a heavy bias towards a healthy eating culture - so something like a subway would be a good call.

How very small a world this is. I've visited your Lisburn branch before, just behind the Halifax bank. I always assumed you were just in Northern Ireland, am I wrong?

There are many franchises, we often associate franchise with fast food.
For example, I work at "Edible Arrangements", which is a business that makes fruit bouquets. It seems like the owners are doing well considering they are opening a third store in September. I would go with something more unique.

Whichever way you go, you really make money by owning multiple franchise locations.
