Looking For Legitimate Home Based Franchises

If anybody knows of any good home based franchises then please let me know. I'm especially interested in ones that have a very low startup cost.

In most cases, franchises don't come with low start-up costs. The value of a typical franchise is based on a couple factors -

A. They have created a viable business that can work in almost any market, complete with distinctive logo and the marketing package for starting your operation.

B. The franchise comes complete with a business plan, including advance training, usually at the franchise headquarters, along with follow-up training on-site.

C. Before the franchise will be granted, the company will research your chosen market and sometimes send out specialists to survey the market for competition, traffic patterns, and even provide 2 or more site selections.

D. Limited number of locations in your chosen market, possibly an exclusive for your city.

Because of all the advance work that is involved in the franchise, there are considerable costs to acquire the franchise as well as equipment and inventory to purchase.

And due to the limited number of franchises they can sell, all of the costs have to be born by those who meet the conditions and are selected to receive a franchise.

If you are truly looking for low start-up costs you might want to consider that a low cost franchise can be $25K or more, before equipment and inventory is considered.

Also, many franchises are developed for retail, so other than mobile operations, may not consider home-based operations.

On the other hand, there are a number of bizopps that meet both the low cost start-up as well as the home-based option.

While my business might not suit you, I've been working my home-based business full-time since 1987. And with no dealership cost or inventory to invest in, can certainly meet your wish for little capital requirement.

DBeavers is correct with his information. There is an opportunity that he did not mention however. You sound like you're looking for a network referral style business. There are several out there, I use Quixtar, Amway Global which is a network referral business. Start up is simply the cost of a business liscense. You do not need to worry about inventories, storage space, shipping, tracking, or a host of other issues. You focus on building a business team of independent business owners. You may want to check Franchise Opportunities and see if you can find a franchise business that you want to go into. It is important to note that initial franchise fee can be quite substantial. There are advantages to franchising like well-known trademark, established business framework, and proven operating methods, to name a few and these come with a price.
