    Fundamental Issue

Hello, this is Adam Lanier. Please forgive the simpleness of the posted question as this is my first post on this site and I am new to the buisness of entrepreneurship. I pose this question to determine the plausibility of a joint franchise endevour created between a father and a son. My father plans to buy a franchise and allow me to work as the manager. I would like to know a broad estimate of the owner's expected income around the Houston area, and whether opening a franchise in such economically unstable times may be a risky venture. I may have follow up questions, but sincerely appreciate answers to these questions.

    In graditude,

    Adam

It all depends on what business you're trying to run. You could open a franchise in economically-booming times that fails, and you could open a franchise in a recession that flourishes. What are you trying to do?

What is the franchise exactly? Also I would ask other owners of similar franchises in your area, about how they are doing.

Check to see if they offer an Item 19 Earning's Claim in the Franchise Disclosure Document. When you call on other franchisees during "validation", check with them about their earnings. Of course different market's may net different results. Use it as a guide. Hope this helps someone.
