Depends on how big your share is.

If you buy the whole company, you can decide your designation as well.

    Good luck!

Owner. CEO means Chief Executive Officer and is paid manager position in executive management. Usually those are professionals andhavenothing to do with owners.
If you have several shareholders, you need to have a board which will once in a year discuss about dividends and managemet team performance. If you are a only shareholder, you do not need a board.

Yeah, if you're majority owner, you can be whatever you want. You don't necessarily have to be the CEO.

Forgetting titles, what role will you actually be playing in this business?

Names do not mean a damn thing... If you are thinking of buying a company then you better be willing to take the title of janitor, admin assistant, payroll clerk, president of dealing with stupid customers, vice president of dealing with annoying suppliers...

If you want niceness then go ask your mom what your title will be. There is no room for feelings or emotions in business. Now pull your panties out of you ass and re-read what I wrote the first time.

If you are spending more then 5 seconds worrying about what your title will be then you have the complete wrong focus. Start working your business and quit wasting time on what to call yourself... or you can call yourself unemployed.. as that will be the most suitable name if you don't start worrying about more important things.

I'm not here to pacify your you ego... I'm here to give you a straight answer about your questions. Now quit whining and get to work...
