    Starting Flea Market business idea

I am currently looking to start up a flea market business that I can do on weekends. My idea is to buy wholesale items from China, have a few suppliers that I found and resell at local flea markets. Does anyone have any experience doing this. I plan on taking a trip to a couple flea markets close to me and see what similar items I can get will sell for. I will watch a few stands and get a good amount of the idea of traffic going into the stands and see how many sales are completed. I have heard of people making a good 500-600 a weekened selling at a flea market as a side job. Is there any advise you can give me? Thanks

I used to do this in the summer. I ordered items wholesale off the internet and resold them. I also asked family and friends to donate any items they were not using. The thing I noticed sold the most from my collection was accessories of any kind and household items. One thing to keep in mind is that people come to the flea market looking for a bargin so do not price your stuff so high. Another thing to keep in mind is make sure you have enough inventory to make whatever amount you want to make. It is a good idea to go to different flea markets to not only see what they're selling but WHO they are selling it to and whether or not your goods will succeed in that flea market. Hope I helped.. I know this is a little everywhere!

yea man, thanks for the input. I am finding jewelery for about 30cents in China and I hear the similar products retail for 3.00+ at flea markets. I plan to go this weekend to 2 of them and compare prices and see if they are selling alot. It just sucks that winter is coming up here in the north east, but this will give me a good starting ground on how to run my own business. The good thing is I also am looking to personal train people part time, so i can hand out business cards and make money at the same time. This weekend will let me know if my idea is good and the profit margin is there. I am going to add the costs up and see if it's worth my time. I am also trying to figure out ways to make my stand more appealing and I will get ideas from all over on this one.
