Starting a Sneaker and Clothing Store, but I have questions.

This is my first post here, my name is Mike and I live in CT. I am in the process of starting a sneaker and clothing store in CT, and I have few questions and I was hoping this forum could help me out.

    1. Is it a better idea to go through a company such as Nike to get my inventory or through a wholesaler?

    2. Best website to construct online store?

I apprieciate the help and any advice you could give me that would be great.

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Mike,

If you want to sell brand name products, you will likely have to go through a distributor or wholesaler. If you contact a company like Nike, they will direct you to a regional representative for distribution. Is your store going to be online only or in combination with a traditional retail storefront?

If you need any research conducted or business planning regarding this, visit brickstonecg.com or send me a message. I work in management consulting and would be happy to assist further.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

Brickstone is correct...in the case of nike, you'd have to speak with distributors of NIKE...what kind of clothes will you be selling? Tradeshows are a great place for product sourcing...you make great contacts and speak to the companies face to face...you just have to be prepared to buy when you go...and as far as online stores go, there are plenty ways to go about it...depends on your budget and what you need it to do...
