small e-business store website design

Hello, I'm new not only to this site but also to doing anything related to starting a business! I realize I've got a lot of research ahead of me, but am just here looking around and thought I'd post a question I can't really find an answer to...

What kind of reputable and straightforward software is available for creating a website that has "store" characteristics, i.e. shopping cart, payment page, etc...does not have to be even remotely extravagant, just something basic. I do not know any HTML, or anything like that.

It would have to be available for Mac OS or Windows - either one, but not Linux, or anything else.

You said basic. fastcommerce will get you up and running.

Oscommerce, Zencart, prestascript are all open source solutions to setting up estores quickly and also provide good admin management features.
