Revolutionary Medical Idea | Need Advice Please.

Hello, My names Anthony, I'm new to the forums. I'm a successful online marketer and advertiser and make a living doing so. I'm looking to expand into the medical niche with a physical product I want to sell. However, having no experience with medical products puts me in a situation where I have a brilliant idea, and advertising plan but I lack knowledge on obtaining the product itself.

I'm going to give an example of a situation that is close to mine because I'd like to keep the main idea as confidential as possible but I'd much appreciate some business advice.

Lets say I wanted to create my own over the counter medical product such as advil or vitamin pills. Lets also say both products are patented. I have a brilliant brand name for it and my advertising plan is flawless. Lets say my brand name is "feelbetter". I want to create my own "feelbetter" pill brand and sell them over the counter in stores. However, I don't know how to create the pill and the pill is patented. There are other pills like this one as well. I want to release this product in USA and Canada to start.

    My question is:
-Where do I go from here?
-What steps do I need to take to release this product?
-Do I contact the patent company first?
    -Do they manufacture everything?

I'm pretty much stuck with an amazing marketing idea and plan I know is going to work. There are other companies such as mine but they approach everything wrong imo. I need to know how I can get this product manufactured as well?

    Thank you.

    oh for fuck's sake
be original, I'm so sick of this "I'd like to keep the main idea as confidential as possible" bullshit
if i were you, i'd be on top of a building, with a bullhorn, shouting at anyone who'll listen to you and your "brilliant idea"
...that's the the first step in terms of "where do I go from here"

be original? how do you know I'm not being original if you dont even know the idea? lol

If I think I came across a big idea obviously I'm not going to advertise it to the world...unless I'm you apparently.

I'd appreciate comments that are actually helpful and answer any questions I asked.

    )))) hehhe
    so, this one's a doozy
as I understand it, you'd like to "create my own over the counter medical product"
let's clarify, do you just want to repackage, rebrand, and resell someone else's drug, or do you want to formulate your own drug and have it registered with the FDA?

It sounds like you are trying to figure out how to re-brand/sell a product owned/patented by someone else. If so, you have a non starter on your hands. If on the other hand you want to develop a new product and have millions of dollars to invest in the cost of clinical trials with an incredibly small chance of actually getting FDA approval at the end of many years then you should move forward accordingly :-). Good luck!

I dont know, there's a product called Biofreeze which is practically the same thing as Icyhot, bengay, the usual. But it's in a fancy package, at a higher price. smells the same though.

and then there's always the... statin drugs, and the prilosec, zegerid, protonix, nexium, prevacid "Im unique" thing...

    :-)

But to answer your question, if the products are over the counter and already patented, you really can't sell it. It happens all the time, where a generic medication comes out, but then is pulled off the market for some sort of infringement. Now, I believe there is the exception that if a certain [chemical] process is used in the creation of the product, if you use some alternative process to create the chemical, that is a different story. Pharmaceuticals and their R+D is absurd.

But like stated above, this doesnt seem easy.

But I am interested in the marketing plan! I'm sure it can be used just as well in another area!
