    Online Sales Website

I'm wanting to take my "flea market" business and advertise to a larger market through a website. To my knowledge selling frequently at a flea market doesn't classify you as a business, I buy and resell many items, but don't have a license, is that legal?

Is it legal to have a website selling these items without being a business?

The idea is to have a basic site, items for sale broken down into categories, mostly used items with some drop shipping/wholesale items thrown in, anyone know the legalities of that?

I'm not looking to have a huge business here, just something on the side that I enjoy doing. Am I good just to do it? Or would a license make it more appropriate?

In any business you you should have a group of professionals on your team. One such team member is a lawyer. Ask him. He knows the laws in your jurisdiction. Having a strong team makes your life easy.

    Hi simt,

Its not illegal to buy and sell items on the internet. Just make sure you keep really good records and pay your taxes. If you start making a lot of money look into to starting a LLC or consulting more experienced professionals. Selling goods as a hobby should get you into too much trouble as long as you are not doing anything illegal and paying your taxes. A lot maters on what state your in and what type of website you build. Can you provide more details on the project?

I don't see anything illegal about this. There are tens of thousand ecommerce sites on the web. Creating an e-store is simple. Have you thought about how people are actually going to find you?

The best thing to remember is that no really cares what you do as long as they get their cut of your money - (and yes this includes the government). Make sure you pay your taxes and all appropriate fees and you'll be just fine
