Not sure what you're even saying here...so your problem is you do not have tech experience, but you have a tech team??...so what's the problem?

I would say it would be good to have a little bit of experience, but if you have people to take care of that for you, that would leave you to worry about other aspects of your business.

I want to start this business
.. Why have you not started this business if you want to start this busieness.

If you dont personally have the technical skills, but you have a team who do, then it's your job to get them to perform.. Am i answering a relevant question?? I don't completely understand you..

If your just focusing on software and programming then technical wouldn't be a problem unless you want to higher a person who has the knowledge in technical. Focus on what you do great and do it.

    Hi Dheeraj,

Surround your self with right people, plan things ahead of time in terms of your customers, investment amount, ROI, etc.

If you don't have experience, the best thing is to do is to get your feet wet and test the water. It's not gonne be an easy shot. You will fall many times before you succeed. Unfortunately, that's the nature of the business for self starter unless you have rich parents or family members who already established the business for you.

If it was that easy, everyone would be rich and you and I wouldn't be here spending days and weeks reading and researching.

All I can say, you won't know unless you try but don't put all your eggs in one basket..just test the water and if you get good feelings about it, get down a little deeper in slow and steady way.

I know I was very anxious to start my company but then I thought maybe I should watch people how they do business. So I started going to many trade shows, conventions meeting entrepreneurs around the world. It will cost you a lot of money but this will change your pshycology since you will see how those big guys roll....

-Figure out a name of the company that goes really well with your sector.
-Do you start up as sole proprietor, LLC, or Corp, then register
    -find a location/niche market

Starting a company is like a having a baby.....so understand that it will require a lot of dedication....

Whatever it is, don't give up....start slowly,,,you will eventually find out what's right for you sooner or later.....

    Hope this helps..

Hire someone who you can trust to run the technical aspects of things. Since you already have that person, great! Let someone be the technical VP or head of your technical wing and let them report to you while they handle all those aspects. You should concentrate on the business aspect of things--the operational, sales, strategic, growth aspects.

Just be honest with yourself, brutal honesty is the best. Can you handle running the business and knowing just a little bit of technical jargon that is necessary to run your business? Can your technical person/team really handle the technical aspects alone or do you just want them simply because they know a little more than you? And most importantly, if people fall off your team, do you have a working knowledge of what they do or will you be able to find someone to replace them? Otherwise, you may put the business at risk.

All of the replies to your original post have great points! Here are a few more to think about. I don't think you need to necessarily be an expert in the in-depth technical side of what you're delivering, but you DO need to be an expert in understanding your market, and what your ideal buyers really need from the solutions you're offering. IT projects can span a very wide spectrum, so as Molly said below, find a niche solution that meets some largely unmet needs in your sector where you and your team have some unique expertise... otherwise you are competing against a lot of companies which can put you in a bidding war, and force you to cut your prices to win the business. Your margins will disappear fast. You will also need to have a professional web presence where you communicate the unique solutions - and make them as focused on solving specific business challenges as you possibly can. Instead of we offer X, Y and Z services, position your services as "if you're facing this kind of challenge, here is how our expert team can help." Too many providers try to be all things to all customers, when in fact they have specific expertise in only a few areas. You might also check into an initial investment in a target database when you launch to get some initial projects going and build a reference customer list that can vouch for the success of your work. I just ran across a company that sells databases for IT contacts. I haven't looked into it more yet, but try checking into this firm: IT Market Intelligence. Good luck!

Lots of places to get help.

Hi there. You'll find there are lots of places online where you can get all the technical help you require. Just hire someone - or a team of people - for each individual job. Be sure to check their references, previous work and ask for samples of current work too.

Remember, you don't always need to pay people before they complete the work you give them - you can get the client to pay you first and then keep the money for your hired workers in Escrow (that way they can't take it until they finish the job).

    Try:
    • Elance.com
    • Guru.com
    • iFreelance.com
    • Freelancers.net

Also, may I suggest you find a Virtual Assistant to take care of your email messages and other business communications. Your English is sometimes a little confusing which I think could make business more difficult for you.

    Good luck!
Wishing you great success in your business,

    Andrea
