Hello, I basically have zero knowledge of business but will be heading off to university soon to be studying it.

I have been changing my diet over the past year as I have bene trying to lose weight. I managed to create a food that helped me lose fat and tastes great. It hit me today that if I could some how sell this new product I could make millions. However, I don't really know where to start and if this is even legal. So I guess I'll start here.

My first concern is that basically my product is a combination/mixture of multiple food items. I want to know if I could create my own product even though I am using other products? Now I think that would be illegal but the catch the products I use can be bought from multiple brands, and I think i could even buy them in bulk.

My second concern is how do I find out if there is a product out there similiar to mine? I don't want to go about doing this if I find out there is already a trademarked or identical product that will prevent me from making my product.

And finally if these concerns are legal, how do I go about starting up my food product business. I mean I'm only 18 and headed to university in a few months. I don't have exact measurement, packaging, or really anything other than an idea.

Please do give your advice, as I am truly interested in starting up this business idea.
