Needing a bit of advice ...

Hi people just joined the site today. Im 15 years old and I am very interested in making money and the whole business world in general.

I have knoledge in accounting and I have worked on a building site for 2 years.

I need ideas and help on how to create a small business with a friend and how to 'get it out there' . I was thinking along the lines of buying gumball machines and paying to have them in public areas but i want bigger and better ideas .

    Thanks

oportunity selection is a tricky thing...there is a lot to be said for how and why different entrepreneurs end up working on different opportunities..it can be a product of the family situation, work relationships, personal interests and characteristics, economic reasons etc etc etc

on the whole however, i find that at a base level...oportunity selection is defined by role models
entrepreneurs tend to pick opportunities that are relevant to people who influence them in one way or another..people who like steve jobs are attracted to tech..those into donald trump like property, people with shopkeepers in the family preffer retail etc etc

....so really, in finding an opportunity, the question is...what kind of a person do you want to be? who do you want to emulate? whose work do you respect? answering these questions sets a very rough ballpark for the kind of opportunities you'd be interested in...and then the real work starts...i.e. comparing the opportunities and settling on the right one

in essense, the opportunity you pick is reflective of what you think of your self, what you values are and how you want to be perceived...and this stuff is pretty subjective

I'm not a fan of the gumball idea, those machines cost $800+ each and the return is very little. I'll try to think of something to help spark your imagination.

wow, 15 and already having the entrepreneurial mindset. I am lovin' it! If you go for the mowing law business you can do what tom sawyer did and get some of the local kids excited about mowing lawns and recruit them and give them a certain amount of each lawn they cut while you get the remainder and do less work
This recession is the greatest thing that's ever happened to me. Website coming soon...

My brother did something similar, except he wouldn't hire them. lol. He wanted to keep all the work (and money) for himself and his partner.
