Hello

This is my first post to any forum on this sight so here goes nothing.

Basically, I'd like to open up a storefront of some sort i.e. coffee shop or sandwhich shop

I have several friends who have started their business through family or loans from friends. I don't have relationships with family members of people I know who would have the sort of money to loan for a business start up, so here is my question.

I have limited credit history. One credit Card from a credit union, and some small school loans (maybe 7,000 or so). My credit score is in the "good" area, but thats not too hard to do without any significant gaffs or much history at all.

So, how can I begin to build the credit to be able to then use alongside a strong business plan? I have looked around the internet and haven't come up with clear answer. Should I build up my personal credit? And if so, where can I find information on the most efficient way to do so? Or, if I should somehow build business credit before I even have my business, how do I know how to do that?

Could I go to a bank and have them explain this to me or will they laugh me out of their building? The internet doesn't have too much of a clear definition on good ways to build up the credit history to accompany a small business start up for something like I'd like to do, a coffee shop or sandwich shop.

Does anyone have a good read they would recommend, or any wise words for me?
If this is an amateur question that warrants you throwing up on your keyboard as you read it, please let me know, and then direct me to the best place to begin.

I'd like to be able to take out a loan of about 350,000 eventually. Give or take several hundred thousand dollars haha. Like I said, amateur hour. But, any tips or advice would be very much appreciated.

Thanks
