I saw this section and felt like it was worth noting that franchising can be a great way to start a business without taking all of the usual risks, but you need to make sure that the franchisor is committed to your success as well.
For example do they offer any training? Have they been successful in their own market? Does their operations manual give you tools that will actually help you market your business? All of these are important questions.
I will say that if you can answer yes to most of these questions then it is definitely worth taking the time to look into the franchise as it may provide you with the leg up you need. If you answered no then it may be time to look elsewhere and find a franchise that is as committed to your success as you are.
