Long time viewer first time poster. I have an e-commerce site that generates approx 1-5 calls inbound call per day. Ideally i would like to sub this out and have someone handle these orders. Ocassionally it requires some up-selling. in addtion I have approx 5 inbound leads per day that need to be followed up on.

A good person could knock the follow up calls out in an hour tops which leaves the rest of the time waiting for the phone to ring. Just curious how I should pay them? hourly? commission?

This would be a work from home position and there are literally days when the phone does not ring, so would i pay them the complete time slot? The problem with Commision is enticing people to start for one, the other issue is since its ecommerce the customer could always buy direct from the site which could create a stink.

Just curious as to what you guys have done in the past?
