I do not know much about business but I am just seeking general advise about franchising. If I have a good idea, but I do not really want to spend the time developing it is it possible for me to sell it to an experienced business person who can create it well. Also is it possible to sell an idea for a % royalty on its stock or profits or etc.

Before anyone would be interested in a franchise, you generally have to have a working model which can demonstrate a profit. You cannot franchise a new concept without a track record, and this would be no different if you are looking for an existing franchise to take your concept and run with it. It may fit an existing model, but for any successful franchise, it has to be proven first. Royalties are paid after it proves a success, so your scenario is not viable unless extremely unique and proven.

Do a market research in your area, or the place you will put your franchise. Even if the products is well known and people or your target audience don't need it then it's useless to put that kind of business.
