We have several companies that outsource their complete work to us.

Thus they don't have to bother about production. They give complete time in marketing.

Since we work in Large Quantity for quite a few companies, we are able to offer much better prices.

Thus, this turn out to be a Win-Win situation for everyone.

I definately think outsourcing can be a great time saver and money maker when done correctly... especially when you are trying to cut some overhead expenses. There are only 2 main issues that I have found when my clients outsource. 1. Finding the right person and 2. Managing them (or the team). This is one of the services that I have provided in my coaching/consulting business. I have helped many young entreprenuers do the following before they start outsourcing...
    1. Is it cheaper to have someone do something for you, than if you do it yourself. For example, if you make $100 in sales, why not pay someone $15 per hour to do the bookkeeping. Your time is your most valuable resources and should not be wasted.
    2. What parts of your business are you comfortable outsourcing? I would not outsource anything that can be a deal breaker?
    3. Create a plan of action - a system to identify the type of person or firm you want to use, your budget, your expecations, and make sure you are clear on what you need & want.
    4. Choose carefully... maybe even outsource someone that can help you find just the right people. I do this for my clients and have built some very successful online teams in the past.
    5. If you are outsourcing virtually, you may want to have an online project management software or a system of meeting with your team either on-line or through recordable teleconference calls.
If anyone would like to ask me more about how to do this, please feel free to contact me anytime. Good luck to you all as we move forward in a virtually outsourced world!

Businesses of all kinds can and do benefit from the tool of outsourcing every day. Businesses large and small have been outsourcing every day projects for many years. The businesses that use outsourcing as a tool to enhance and grow their business already know the value that outsourcing brings to their organization.

I recommend rentacoder for anyone looking to outsource a part of their business for the first time. Especially if you are not familiar with project management, RAC holds your hand and helps you get a feel for what you need to plan.

I also agree with some of the other comments, don't outsource your core competency (the main thing your customer's pay you for.. it may not be as obvious it seems though). If you lose control of that, it will impact your customer's and damage your business. If other non-core things fail, you can usually keep it 'in house' so your customer's never find out... it still hurts and costs you money though

I think outsourcing strategy base on some factors:

    + Situation.
    + Finance.
    + Time to do.

    etc

People outside of the USA just don't have a handle on the language, marketing ideas, branding aspects, etc....

But it does work for programming and design needs, as long as you know what you want, and are very specific about it. YOu really need to ensure that your business won't faulter due to some faulty programming and latent design....just be careful. I have two programmers that work for me and are from the Ukraine - geniuses, but still I have to guide that paint brush very carefully sometimes to ensure things go properly.

Just be careful on what aspects you outsource.
Very well stated, and makes perfect sense.

Outsourcing is a very smart strategy. Almost all businesses tend to earn more profits by focusing on its key activities and for this purpose they tend to transfer their workload on some other business. Mostly developing countries offer these services and get employment level increased in their country. It offers many benefits to the countries involved in it.
I want a separate list of all functions that can be outsourced.
