i think the main thing is to promote the hell of an experience at the club, get someone like paris hilton to come (yes she takes cash to just appear at clubs), try to sell as much alcohol as you can, and profits will follow.

Yeah you can definately book celebs to come out to clubs and it really makes for an interesting time.

    Dance/Bikini contests/etc

But yeah, it is a very shady business. A lot of gangsters will try and luander money with you and it could quick become into an episode of the shield.

The club business is EXTREMELY shady. Its all about money and you will have a lot of turnover for sure.

Like your boy said tho- it could be profitablle I mean cover charge pays the bills, drinks pay salaries (even yours).

    Location, Location, Location.

Once you let the riff raff in , its all downhill from there. Dress code enforced, definately get up on that insurance, cameras and a good head of security will help you out a lot.

My advice is to go up to a night club owner, tell him that you are a college student or something to that sort (maybe even in the next major town over) and tell him that you want to learn the ins and outs of the business and will work for free. If you can't do that right there you probably shouldn't start your own night club. This is all advice and I just do airbrush tans.

After you have done all your research and have covered all your corners... GO FOR IT! Sounds like fun but be prepared. I know here in the DFW area we have things like Accessdallas

There are a lot of factors that will come into play, you need to invest a lot of money to earn a lot of money. You will need a big staff, and lots of promoters.
