I hate to pull the experience card on you, but I've been involved with domain names and domain investing for 3.5 years now - .cn names are not worthless, especially in China. True, there is a much higher percentage of malware on .cn domains, but this does not mean they should be (or have been) completely written off.

I'm not completely writing them off, but I am saying that it would probably be wise to hold off on them until the full effects of Google's filtering or future actions have been seen.
However, I'm not a domainer, so I will definietly give your opinion a substantial amount of credit here.

i have been buying, selling and trading domains for about 11 years now, so while I'll take your opinion into consideration, I'll still say .cn's bear no weight against .com's. once again, even the chinese are more familiar with them as is the rest of the world. .uk is the brit country extension, yet they use .co.uk instead. there's a reason for that

There are NO extensions that are nearly as worthy as a .com unless it's a .org or .gov

I own a pretty cool domain for a music related site, laying idol with it for now but would be interested in selling it.. PM me for domain.. Or if anyone reading this has interest in music or in joining together on a venture, I have a pretty good idea for its use. Currently in the middle of a different startup but had planned to jump on the music site within a year. I think it could be big.
Thanks,
GRH
