Thumbs up $2760 per month profit - Selling the site!

HIDreview.com for sale. This is the 6th business I've built, made profitable, and am selling.

HIDreview.com FOR SALE-VALUED AT $93,000+! NO SELLING!! - eBay (item 140207912400 end time Feb-25-08 20:29:10 PST)

I've posted on eBay the details. Get it while you can. My last site (Buy Car and Motorcycle Xenon HID Kits) went for just under $3k, I had another bidder contact me right after the auction ended, trying to buy for $5k. Sorry, you got sniped

If you're interested, place a bid. Need more info, let me know.

Jay

Just wondering, why do people sell websites that supposedly make more money per month than they can get for the site?

If the stats and profit are true, then it looks like a steal.

PBoy - in reply to your question:
-I build and sell sites; it's what I do. I built and sold BuyXenon.com, which took me about 5 months to build up to the point it needed to be at, to sell it for a good profit. I was making a couple grand per month with it.

Same thing with HIDreview.com.. I started in Dec, and am now ready to sell. The reason I build/sell, is because even though they bring in money - I just don't have time for the anymore, I get bored with them, and I want to invest my interests elsewhere. Plus, it's a quick buck Knowing that I can build another profitable site if need be, is always a nice tool to have in my pocket. Money isn't everything - but it sure feels nice to have some in your pocket!

I do the exact same thing as you do Fanatik and know what you mean about always starting something new and selling off the old. I've registered 4 domain names in the past couple of days to have them ready to be developed (as soon as my dozens of other projects are complete).

I do tend to hang on to a few profitable sites as long as I can, but hey, everything has it's price right?

Good luck with the sale!

BTW, since you sell on Ebay, too, are you going to participate in the Ebay strike?

Glad to hear ya chime in! Yep, everything sure does have it's price. On a larger scale - why don't you ask Mark why he's selling his $2,000,000 in sales / $200,000 per yr profit business for $60,000??? He's had it for 8 years, selling hot tubs/spas online and owns 1000+ domains.

You don't know who he is, because you probably haven't invested enough time to research good business sales. Mark is moving overseas and starting another venture, so he's selling for $60k, a business that brings in $200k.

Like most others on this site, Mark wants something else, something new, and something exciting.

Yahoo might sell for $40b - is that different than us selling a business for quick few grand, that brings in triple that? Not really... it's all about perspective.

Thanks for the luck - I think I might need it! haha, I've got some interested buyers - but anyone who's sold a business knows that 'interested' just doesn't cut it sometimes. Oh happy day. lol.

Have a good one, all. BTW - no, I'm not participating in the strike. eBay won't get the message and I haven't got the time to care lol... Hope that doesnt offend anyone. They're just running a business like we all are.

How do you make such little money with only 21-59 unique visits a month? Can i see your traffic for referrers?

Also, can I see more detailed info on the Google Adsense? It seems that you've only made 78 bucks for the entire length of your account.. can i see channel statistics for the site?

wheres the other 2682$ a month come from?

Thanks

Are you looking at the same thing I am? You might want to re-check the graphic you were looking at, because it's a little something like this:
-Visits per month-
Dec: 362
Jan: 1446
Feb: 830 (Screenshot taken on 14 Feb)
Total *visits* as of 14 Feb: 2638
Total *hits* as of 14 Feb: 192,884

The main referrers are Google and forums. Just goto Google and type in: hidreview - and you'll see some forum posts. I have to say - you don't make a ton of friends from large companies selling HID's, because this site blows their practices out of the water. My investigative write-ups tell it all on the homepage.

I'm really starting to think you haven't read the auction clearly... I have clearly stated that AdSense is the secondary income, and as of today I have ONLY MADE ~$80 TOTAL FROM ADSENSE ON THE SITE! So YES - you are correct, AdSense doesn't make much at all on the site.

Again - let's do the math, which is again, clearly stated on the auction for how the site brings in money:
23 Advertisers X $120 per ad slot = $2760

The money being made from the site is from MERCHANTS ADVERTISING ON THE SITE. The main ad slot I sell is on the top of the page. You could also charge merchants smaller amounts of money to advertise links on the site, and can change the left adsense skyscraper into an advertisement. It's all managed with Joomla CMS, so it's easy to change around.

Please, if you have questions - read the auction first. I'm more than happy to answer questions, but it's nonsense to repeat the same thing over and over.

womp womp.

Hi Fanatik,

Do you have Mark's contact info? I would be interested in learning more about his business for sell.

Thanks
