After completing this introduction to basic Web development using Claris Home Page, you too can join others in the World Wide Web Publishers' Circle.

web development is getting easier and easier . now you can create pages without worrying too much about HTML by using WYSIWG programs like Claris Home Page . still it helps to have a basic understanding of what"s under the hood for those cases in which the editor doesn't do what you expect . in this session , we"ll include a gentle introduction to HTML .

Start off by getting comfortable with HTML and then learn CSS to make it all look better. I recommend using a content management system for a beginning developer e.g. WordPress, Joomla and SilverStripe.

There are plenty of free tutorials online, good-luck!

You have created pages without worrying much about HTML by using WYSIWG programs to split view of a website page as it appears in the viewer next to the page's HTML coding.

Learning HTML and CSS is essential, there are plenty of youtube and online tutorials available for free. Then you can go in different directions, Javascript, PHP, Razor (ASP.NET). However CMS like Wordpress, Joomla and Silverstripe is very popular now.

Web development is a broad term for the work involved in developing a web site for the Internet (World Wide Web) or an intranet (a private network). This can include web design, web content development, client liaison, client-side/server-side scripting, web server and network security configuration, and e-commerce development. However, among web professionals, “web development” usually refers to the main non-design aspects of building web sites: writing markup and coding. Web development can range from developing the simplest static single page of plain text to the most complex web-based internet applications, electronic businesses, or social network services.

Web development has gone through a major facelift since the last few years. It has transitioned from the semi-straightforward approach like HTML pages topped up with a bit of Flash and JavaScript to the more developed application-based designs using Ajax, Flex and Adobe AIR.

The basic would be HTML & CSS, Javascript would be a nice addition.
