Whether or not you support the Obama camp, this site would be a good opportunity to get an active forum community going. The best time would be to start now and build traffic over the next few years for the 2012 election. I personally am not interested in politics any more and don't have the time to run a forum.

Currently there is a blog up that is syndicating news related to Obama. It has a PR3 and has 544 backlinks already coming in to the site and the site has been sitting there for over 2 years.
