    Need Help on SEO

    Hey everyone,

I am currently starting a web based company in the travel industry and I have most of my basis covered. I have 2 business partners, one is graphic and web designer and the other is my technology and database guy. I run the business side of things. The only thing I feel like I am missing is SEO. I have looked online for companies but there are so many and who knows if they actually will do a good job. Is it possible to learn the basics of SEO from somewhere. Im willing to get my hands dirty in it but at the same time I do not think that I have to web background to really be able to pick it up quickly. I'd love some advice on the area. Maybe there are some former threads that will help.

    Thank You

SEO can be learned and done by yourself absolutely but don't expect to see top notch results. I you want the best results and for your keywords to rank on google quickly you gotta hire somebody.

Aside from that I will rank a low or medium competitiveness keyword on the first page of google for $60 a month. Let me know if your interested.
Post your listings/ads on the best classified ads website:

I agree but I have all parts of the business covered besides SEO. That is why I was asking for peoples advice and person experiences. Do you happen to have any of the two?

Even if you are going to hire the services of SEO company, I think it's still important that you have the basic background of SEO. So that when SEO plans are presented to you, you have an idea on what's it all about. Check google regarding the basic information about SEO like keywords, link building and the likes. Make sure that you stick to the white hat techniques.

Thanks Cooker101, have you ever purchased SEO? Any companies that you recommend? I have done some research and will continue to.

    The easy package:

    Make sure
    1. You have good tittle (the place it says "Need Help on SEO" on this page)
    2. Your headlines follow the logic H1 --> keyword included, H2 --> related keyword. Eg. Baseball bats (H1), Metal bats (H2), Wooden bats (H2)
    3. Get mentioned on blogs or other places to get links to your site

Arguably, the best platform for learning the basic of SEO is to install and configure a self-hosted Wordpress website. By blogging, you are conveying interest in a particular field and delicately showcasing your skills.

    Install and activate Yoast SEO.

Then start posting unique relevant articles about your industry on your blog.

Lastly, ask your friends and family to link to one or more of your blog posting. Repeat the process with other relevant websites.
This linking process is a form of link building and it is the core foundation of all SEO strategy.
