    Gauging interest

    Hi,

I recently bought this site (and company) and haven't had much time to work on it. I would like to gauge interest and get an idea of what it's worth. It cost over 10k to build and has a very strong backing - trademark pending, complete 4 phase business plan, strong legal foundation. I will consider offers if your seriously interested. Please let me know what you think.

collegevita.txtbookrental add a dot com on the end

    Hi there alex,

I was just wondering if you could breakdown the $10,000 cost?

Think I found the source of the cost on the homepage "Invite your friends to CollegeVita for your chance to win up to $10,000 cash."

The site looks like it was free. Just Kidding

Actually that 10k giveaway was never even spent, the site has been unactive for almost a year now. The 10k I mentioned was for on development. Altogether the previous owner spent about 15k on the whole project.

Also if you dont have a edu email address the access login is

Login - tg42@424help then add the dot com
    password - 1234

Urm most places have internal systems for this, such as moodle
and i cant really see people wanting to upload and share notes, when there are millions of sities already like this.

Hard to see what you spent 10k on, sounds like a ploy to sell the site for 10k plus? >.<

Also what potential? Care to show us some stats?

No ploy, sorry if it came off that way, I didn't pay anywhere near that much and wouldn't expect to sell for that either.

At the time the site was running on it's own server and we were marketing to one campus of about 2500 students, it had around 500 users seeing about 4 pages a day.

There are others out there, but not that many, and none that I know of that combine everything this does. If you know of any please post them! I would love to see them.

I just checked out moodle, very cool. That is what CollegeVita could become, if one wanted to develop in that direction - whether it be free or subscription base for Universities.

Those are all irrelavant. Amazon is for buying and selling products and the other 2 are just parked domains. I think if you look into the concept a little more you will be very suprised.
