    Where do I start?

    Hey everyone,

I would like to create a business through eBay. However, I don't know how or where to start. I'm sure you guys have successfully accomplished a business of the like so I thought I'd ask. My main focus on this business is that I want it to be simple, yet a money making machine. I can't commit more that 4 hours a week to it because of school and sports.

    Thanks in advance.

you can establish a great business through ebay, but if you plan on spending about 4 hrs a week on it, then it will take a really long time... i would start by finding a wholesaler...what kind of merchandise were you thinking of selling?

I personally can't stand eBay but that doesn't mean you can't make money there. Just be realistic about your expectations vs. the amount of time you can commit. From personal experience eBay is a time consuming venture. Unless you have high margin items to sell you may need to consider other business options.

Well, I've already ordered 300 pairs of sunglasses from an eBay seller for about $250. I have them with me right now. I'd like to get those off my hands and I'm willing to sell whatever is in demand. Also, now that I think of it, I have a vacation every couple of weeks which will give me more time. I'm sure, in total, that I could commit around 30 hours in a 7 day week.

Why don't you like eBay? Personally, I don't care what I'm using to get my money, as long as I'm getting it. Thanks for the helpful advice also!

    Focus Issues

Anytime you want to make ridiculous money your going to need to devote the majority of your focus to that endeavor. It is going to be very difficult for you to do anything that is going to create gobs of money for you if you can only devote 4 hours a week to it. Remember your focus determines your reality and if your focus is spread across the board your results will be also.
You have to put the majority of your time and effort into this idea if you really want it to take off.

Looks like you're going to have some late nights. I agree with Jake. If you are that busy but really serious about this you might have to decide whether one of your time consuming activities is worth the interference with your eBay business. You can still accomplish your goals but it might take longer than you want it to.
