That is the old Amway, reborn under a new name.

Quixtar was started by the sons of the guys who created Amway (Van Andel and DeVos, you can Google them). Its essentially an online version of Amway. Amway has not been phased out; they both operate under a company called Alticor. In fact, the son of one of the founders of Amway, is running for Gov of Michigan as a republican against Jennifer Granholm.
Back to Quixtar. Basically, they give you this line that all you have to do is buy all of your consumer items online at their website instead of in a store at their website. Then you convince other people to do so and this becomes your downline (its mlm).
I have a friend that tried to convince me to do it. Actually, he and his wife came over to my house for dinner pretending to be friends, but the whole time they talked about how they planned on retiring in 6 months because their downline took care of everything (they are 23).
What I couldnt get over was they lived in a dingy apartment.
I am from Grand Rapids, MI. Amway began here and there are lots of people who are either currently involved with Amway of Quixtar or were at one time involved with them. Lots of successes, but lots more failures. MLM is not my game and I would have a hard time trying to con someone into my downline knowing that the probability is they are just going to drop out of the program in the first year.
Personally, I would stay away from Quixtar.

Horrible, horrible, run fast and far from quixstar. They are exactly what gives a bad name to network marketing. If you want to learn about true netwrok marketing and not these bogus plans. Google "the perfect business" by robert kiyosaki and "Brilliant Compensation" by tim sales.
MLM is an old pay plan of network marketing, it was deemed unworkable by the average person. The latest trend and what people are liking these days are Binary pay plans.

I was in quick star and its a cult you make no money until you build a pyramid and go to "phone-team" (meet at an "up-lines" house and call the people you contacted that week) basicy a residential boiler room.
Yah it's a network marketing company aka legal pyramid scheme. You can make a lot of money with it, but like with any business you need to work your ass off. In order to be successful in that business, you will need to either be or learn to be a good salesman. The faster you learn that it's hard work, and that you're gonna need to be a sales man, you'll be successful with any network marketing company.
Thies people are horrible and I was only with them for about 4mos and I saw alot of couples break up because they tell you the person your with has to fit into thier 'ROLE",as in a husband is the the one who takes care of the working, bill paying and the wife should stay at home and take care of the kids and thats it and if you dont CONFORM to thier ideals you hear it forever so I think its worse than ANY pyramid brain washers, they put alot of stress on me and my girl and my "up-line" always had this crap look on his face like we had no right to exist no matter how many people I contacted and how hard I tried, and on top of that I made no money because people already know that Shitstar is a branch of that crap in california,I forgot the name but hopefully Ill forget this one too dammit I just remembered it was AMWAY......but just know there are thousands of people in Quick star and there are only about 20 people making the real money wile the others spend it and its a shame they could make more at a 9to5 job so stay away from it and build your own business

I staired life in the face and was struck down, then I stood up and said kiss my ass may have another!
In other words work your ass off and screw what people say.
You're much better off with Vector Marketing selling Cutco knives if you are going to do any type of marketing/sales scheme like that, all of Quixtar's products are offbrands and junk. Cutco knives are actually pretty good, expensive but good.
Every business has its heros and its villans. Walmart has thousands of lawsuits and people that dislike the company as well as those that are happy to make the Walton Family rich.
Bloggers are only people with opinions. And you will find that people love to give opinions based upon either what they have read from other opinionate people, like the press or their friends.
Be careful and evaluate that opinion...ask yourself these questions:
1. Is this person truely successful (ie; no personal or business debt).
2. What kind of quality research have they done? (Dunn and Bradstreet, Better Business).
3. Who is partnering with the company in question? With Quixtar - Disney, Circuit City, Bass Pro, Office Depot, Barnes and Noble. Do they have qualified lawyers to check out the business plan and see if it legitamate?
4. Are you a business owner or employee? You can base false opinions based upon your current role in life. Successful business owners think differently.
5. Have you asked other successful business owners about the plan for this or any other business that you are looking at.
Typical opinionated bloggers are not successful at any endeavor, not even their relationships with people. They don't have any successful experience in business.

I joined about a year ago and I am actually happy with the company. I have great support and am not ever in any pressure. I am 19 and I believe that I will get somewhere someday. Yea you got to work for what you want and sometimes more than what you expected, but it is worth it. I mean it depends on you. If you are interested then try it out. Do it for a little bit and see how you do. Make sure you are in constint contact with your upline. I believe there is some money back gurantee once you sign up so you can just test it.

I was never in QuikStar. I actually worked for a competitve company. I rather not say the name of it because it still exists. My opinion, and this is just my opinion, I believe that MLM works. If you have the right people as your upline, right environment around you, and the right mindset, you can go very far. I was fortunite enough to have a huge downline and got a taste of the glamor that comes along with being a top money earner. It really did change my perspective on business and people. To this day, I believe I am a better businessman/salesman because of MLM. But I did see many people "lose faith" in the business. It really isn't for everyone. I ended up straying away from it, but it was a choice I was willing to take. Do your research (like what 'Your Mama' stated). You might be the next big thing in that line of business.
Stay far away from QuikStar.
Interesting, but Robert Kiyosaki is now a member of Quixstar. I also find it amusing how people are quick to slam something they don't understand. I also noticed that the people on this forum who are trying to talk people out of joining Quizstar don't once themselves mention ever having been part of it. How very convenient it must be to talk down about something you yourselves have never tried. Kudos to those people who are finding success with the plan, I will soon be joining you!
And for those people who say you have to, what was it "work your ass off" to be successful at it. Well, show me some legal endeavor that you do not have to work hard at, at least in the formative stages of the process. And everything in life is, after all, a process.
Faith is belief in things hoped for and evidence of things unseen.
I personally don't like network marketing, but I believe it really got a bad rap because people with no business starting a business got involved. Too many people dumped tons of money into buying product and didn't ever make money and told all their friends what a crock it was, when if they had put in the effort, they could have made it work, or not, like any business.
Sincerely,
Nick Harter
