    What next?

    Here's the situation:

In 2005, September, I bought a domain name and a good host (completely secure) with 100 MB space n 2GB bandwidth.

    domain: http://www.worldgamingnews.com/

Right now, the site is doing pretty well for a personal website (20,000 hits a month, 400-800 unique visitors), but, sadly, I do not have any ads to display and am not getting much profit. Also, I have very little time on my hands to be able to update the site regularly, like a good gaming site requires.

My site is registered until Sept 2007.

What do I do next? Sell it or stick with it? Can you also tell me how much I can hope to sell it for if I decide to do so?

    ok, great question!

    "when to quit (liquidate) business?"

I think you should do it the second you realise that you don't have a workable plan to achieve significant market share in your industry.

you don't - so you should quit and move on to a venture where you can achieve leadership.

sell it for what ever the people will offer you. use various tactics to increase sale price.

    ........

One more question - how do I go about selling it?

Can you please suggest a base price for the site?

Sell it - give people your stats and tell them this could bring excellent profits from advertising, if they ask you why you didn't put ads on yourself just say ''well i thought there was no point really, however seeing the stats on the site i realise that there could be great income off ads.'' or something along those lines. You should get a decent prices for it though

The stats are good but there is one problem:-

I can only furnish the stats for this month and the last as I was on a different host for a while (trying it out) so it has no stats for the past 6 months or so on this server. However, these are the stats for the month till now:

If you no longer have the desire to run a business, you should get out. How do you know if you've lost the desire? Easy - do you look forward to spending time in your business, or has it become a hassle (or worse)?

Now, as to whether you should sell it, I don't think you'll be able to get too much. Probably $100 - $500, max. Also, always remember that another option is to just close it down. This is, of course, never the entrepreneur's first choice, but sometimes it's better to take the loss and get out. You may dread this thought, thinking of all the money you "lost" on the business, but realize that you've gained an education that no amount of money could buy.

    ok

    1. no site is completely secure

    2. 800 uniques a month isnt alot

I would say an offer of $75 - $100 would be the most you will get if your lucky however your looking at more like $25 - $50.

You can sell the site on many places including www.namepros.com and forums.digitalpoint.com

    Thanks

Ok, thanks for your help(s), I don;t think I need any more.

One last thing though - I don't think your prices are fair. Maybe you didn't consider the fact that I am selling the hosting with the domain. 100 MB hosting with 2 GB bandwidth per month.

Well you can get 2gb webspace with 80gb banwitdh for $6/month so I dont think including hosting is going to increase the value by much at all. Sorry.

Yes, screw the hosting - a buyer probably won't keep it anyway. They could honestly care less about the hosting account.
