Hello I am based out of Dallas, TX and I plan on starting an ethic bedroom décor import business. To be more specific I have located a supplier from India who is willing to sell me bedroom furnishing items like bed sheets, pillow covers, quilts, etc and its going to have ethic theme to it. I have a feeling that there is market for such items. However before I go by my instinct, where can I get more statistics kind of information as far what kind of bedroom décor sells. Just like if Pier 1 import has to import something I am sure they do some research on what sells and what not. Where I can I get this kind of information?

Also, I am totally new as far as opening the business goes and the formalities involved. All I have is this idea and a supplier as of now. I have been doing my research as far what is involved but there is a lot of information out there and I would appreciate if someone can comment both from what kind of business type (corp, LLC, etc) I should start for an import business and also all the formalities involved when getting into import all the way from customs, shippings, etc.
