    sha stuff, any help?

alrighty well im new here and ive looked around this site some and i have a few questions that i havent found an answer to. well first off i get that yall are young entrepreneurs so im guessing yall could help. so my question is how old do you have to be for ppl to actually take you serious? and how old do you have to be to get a loan? well i want to own a movie theater and i know its gonna take alot of money, work, and time. which im willing to do. right, well i just got out of high school in may. i was supposed to start college next week but at the last minute i decided not to. well i dont have any experience but i plan on getting some by working at as many movie theaters as possible and talking to as many movie theater owners as possible. i have a ton of ideas and i dont know exactly what to do with them. ya know. everyone tells me that i need to go to college so that i can learn more stuff, but i dont think college will help me, i mean they wont help me right now, and i dont want to wait a few years. i want my movie theater now. that sounds bad, but its not. i mean i want to get some help now so that building will start in a few years. ya know. well can anyone help me or anything? Not going to college was the best thing i ever did. It won't work for everyone but for me it was great. Start saving up capital working where ever and when ever you can. You have to look and act seriouse if thats the way you want to be taken. it is sometimes hard being taken serious but look at your age as a positive not a negitive. Anyway good luck with it.

    Here to help

    What’s going on?

Hate to break it to you, no bank will give you a loan until you are like 18 and have built up your credit a lot. Banks take on a chance by giving you a loan. If your business fails (which it will at first, so don’t be sad) then banks know they might not get their money back. You don’t own a house, or anything to put up to the bank, incase you cant pay them.

Owning a theater is not cheap. Just to buy the movies to play is not cheap. Plus you have to sell food (need a permit to do that. Meaning more money) then hire employees (more money, which then you need to have insurance) I own a 3,000 sf. Building and it cost me about 35,000 a year just in insurance. Now a movie theater is a lot more, trust me. I know you have dreams, but trust me, you should go to school to learn how to run a business like this. Working at a theater is not going to help you know how to run one. No owner is going to sit down with you and tell you how to run one, because you will become his or her competition. Learn from me, when I first started my company, I went into debt, like 15,000 in debt, in about 6 months. It is not easy. Banks now days don’t just give out money. I am not trying to kill your dreams, I think it is a good idea, but there is a lot of stuff that you need to learn first.

Trust me, your age; your lack of experience in owning a business is an attempt that is not in your favor. I am not trying to be rude, I just want you to see the true picture. Start off small, maybe selling videos online, or something like that. See how things run, how to pay taxes. Write a business plan (you need one anyways for your business); come up with a marketing plan, a checklist.

You age I hate to say does make a difference. But don’t let it get you down.

Your best bet would be to work at one for a while earn some capital(money).
Work out how the industry works and think of ways that you can improve on it. There's no better way then seeing how your future competition runs things.
