Several companies with same trademark letter combination?

    Hello everyone,

I was doing a trademark search before using a trademark for my new business, and I found several companies with the same letters combination for a trademark. I know nobody uses my entire business name, but I am thinking of using the first three letters as a logo.

Example: I am looking into using the first three letters "ABC" (sample) for a trademark and logo for my business. I did a trademark search, and there was about 5-6 active trademarks from different people using "ABC" as their trademark, but they all had different logo designs. I thought the combination of the letters "ABC" was exclusive to only one person; or is it the logo design that differentiates the companies?

Would I be allowed to create a unique logo with the combination "ABC" without getting a cease and desist letter from the other companies, or getting sued?

Nope, unless you were creating something that could be confused with the other business in the minds of the customers.
