    Selling out of an Office?

Now this question may not even be a legal or illegal matter, but my question is, is it possible to be allowed to be able to have a full fledged retail shop within an office? It has always been my dream to do something like this. So not only are you at your Retail store, but the place where you can relax and have meetings and what ever have you is in the next or same room.

Now my information on this limitation is stemming from the food industry, I know that there are specific standards that you must meet in order to produce food at that location, but not sure if the same principals apply for Retailing.

I thank everyone for the help.

First, I'm going to make an assumption that you are located in the US. If not, laws and rules may vary. Check accordingly. In the US, it is legal to have such a set up IF your building is coded for such. Construction code are very specific on what properties are allowed to be used for and there are multiple code types of building usage. Of course this doesn't stop people from illegally doing things in a building that isn't coded for certain types of activities but on the legal and logistic side of things, wherever you plan on doing this, as long as the building code allows for such a business, there shouldn't be any problems.

Yes, wonderful assumption, I am located in the US. And so pretty much when it comes time to purchase my Office/Store, I must look for and meet the requirements for a Construction Code. Thank you, but, generally speaking, would a Office/Store be more costly than an office, or a store, or better yet, two separate office & store buildings?

That varies greatly by city, state, and area of town as well as market conditions. In some cases yes, in others no. There's no way to answer that question without actively looking not to mention the negotiation portion of it if you're looking to buy.
